.:Marketing Professionals Welcome:.
It has been a while...that is considerably a good thing in business. I have been beating my brain on marketing campaigns for 2 seriously awesome items! But, advertising and promotion has NEVER been my strong suit, so I feel it is taking me longer than the average human being. What would you say in an email and direct mail campaign? I am good with phones, I am a dialing fiend! But, the marketing pieces? AAAH! Running, screaming, and pulling my hair out in the other direction.
Students - need help having extra energy and focus to study for midterms and finals (throughout the year period, but these are high hazard times) - so how do you market energy and focus? How does 5 hour energy drink do it?
Daycares - need to keep their facilities non-toxic and as safe for little people as possible. Why? No parent wants their child being poisoned, sick all the time, or having an allergic respiratory reaction to something that was sprayed in the air. So how do you market safety and health to daycare facility directors and owners?
If anyone has insight, PLEASE let me know because I am at a loss!

.:Flexing Your Facebook Muscle:.
Hello peeps,
I know I have not posted in FORever, but business is a crazy busy, demanding thing. It is basically like rearing a child. I want to share my experience thus far with my Friends & Family Facebook campaign. On Friday, I sent out a mass PM to nearly 200 of my friends and family on FB to try my hand at social media and develop some awareness about what I'm doing. Discoveries; 4 people are already in similar business models, 3 peoples were genuinely interested in purchasing, and 3 people have agreed to pass along my information. That is over the past 2 days! Now, I'm thinking as long as I keep it fresh, we should not receive any adverse response. I am contemplating if my next move should be more mass PMs or if there is an alternative method via FB. Any ideas?
Twitter has also developed a role as a media outlet. I have 2 friends who are extensively active and have a relatively large following (compared to me with my little 14 followers LOL). They are also my peeps on Facebook, but again, different people for different outlets. According to the link I posted's click through stats we had 1 click. Whoot! That's 1 more than we have ever had LOL. I am loving business...
Last note before I leave you, all new high value item has been discovered...I am thinking it will be involved with a hardcore April campaign. Look for it! And if you see it, repost and retweet :-)

.:Social Media - the new cliche:.
Hello all,
Social media today is flat out cliche. Twitter and Facebook are the sales consoles of the world...and I find myself joining the ranks of merchant out there. I just sent in my first tweet promoting the organic multi-purpose cleaner available on the e-store, LOC. There is nothing more irritating than being pummelled by advertising on end, but this is only temporary. I want to get back into the real phase of selling where you talk to people on the phone, visit in person, sign some papers and take the cash. Social media really is the new cliche - whate ever happened to being social? Regardless, I refuse to allow my name to be associated with mindless advertising. I just want to be sociable sometimes, ya know?
Although, I must admit I am excited that we have already done 100 in sales volume (crazy numbers) and need another 50 to hit this month's goal. That is going to be incredible. Next month we should FINALLY have the site cleaned up and everything working on a clean machine. Website ETA is Feb. 28th, so go ahead and put up the links because countdown has commenced! In the interim, I am sending people directly to the e-store to try and build some awareness and go ahead and hit my goal for this year. Sure, the check will be tiny but I feel like the momentum and the "I Can Do" is the part that is going to sell it.
Go forth entrepreneurs and prepare your nets to fish!

.:Hitting The Numbers:.
Hello again,
My goodness it seems like it's been forever. So, worked on my numbers and so far we have 100 volume for the month, the goal is 300. I spoke with my dad, he said 300 probably wouldn't happen, but I could shoot for half of that. So...what am I going to do? That is a wonderful question. This is my opportunity to go viral and get my friends in the mix....my only fear is that I may be too late!
When starting out, do not be afraid of what your friends will think or say. I believe, if you can sell a friend or family member or accept their rejection, the rest of the world is a cake walk. Keep up the hustle entrepreneurs!

.:Launching Your Business - The Soft Open:.
Hello world!
Has anyone seen the move Ocean's 13 when they did a "soft open" of the new casino? That is where we are with the website! So, I am loving the design - truly remarkable, and the fact that I built it in about 3 hours. Yes, there is still much work to be done but a website is certainly an on-going process. It is NEVER right the first time...kind of like writing a book. For you entrepreneurs out there, know that it will never be right the first time.
The same goes for business plans, marketing plans, and just flat out launching. You can't prepare for everything, there is a lot that you won't be able to discover until after you encounter it. Experience is worth more than rubies in this world we live in today. That being said, do not fear the "soft open". Air out your creation to a select few in the world and welcome their feedback. The most successful people came to be that way because they celebrated their failures and corrected their mistakes. But, how would they have ever known they were mistakes if someone had not told them so?
JES Works...my apologies, NJ Works, is on soft open. I am wrapping up the final details of the email marketing campaign we are doing and then preparing for a direct mail system. This is where we find many of the major holes in this entire operation. That being said, please share your feedback (constructive feedback please!)
Take this in stride but do not take this lightly - Burn the bridges, there is no home to go back to. Closetpreneurship is all about escaping the plantation of "Job" and never looking back. Try a soft open!

.:Building The Website:.
Hello all of you fab followers out there!
So, I am in the middle of landscaping the website. I was really trying to avoid this step of web design; it is SO time consuming! I am trying the sitebuilder on http://www.wix.com/ we will see how it works out. It was the most amazing thing, I tweeted about looking for a web designer and got 2 responses ! Ultimately, my brother who is an IT guru told me I would have to fork of some nice cash to have one built and I was better off doing it myself. So, with much heaving and hoeing, I am hunkering down to spend my one day off...web designing. Ugh! The horror! But, for the hope of a better future and a better 2012 it is totally worth it.
I received notification that my biz kits came in...and so it begins...too excited!
So yes, this is a short post but my next will hopefully be about an officially launched site. Feedback, feedback, feedback. Thanks peeps!
